Special 1936 Naval Boudoir doll, with Romantic History, Photos, Midshipmans Jacket
Hands down one of the most interesting and special items I’ve ever had the pleasure to own. These items have always tugged at my heart. This is so much more than a Boudoir Doll. This is about a Soldier and his girl. This is about Andy & Ella. This is a little piece of history of a more personal nature. There is a photo of Andy writing to Ella with a picture of her in front of him on the desk. On the back, “To the swellest girl in all the world”. A picture of Ella with her Midshipman Boudoir Doll on the steps of a building at the Naval Academy. A postcard of the Naval Academy in Annapolis Maryland with correspondence from Andy. As if this isn’t special enough, Andy’s Dress Wool Jacket is also present and in beautiful condition. These items have been lovingly cared for over all these years and in my possession the last 12 to 15 years. I paid quite a bit at the time and to my mind worth every penny. The dolls trousers have a little age discoloration as well as top of his Cap, very minor. He has a couple bald spots on the top of his head were the paint has come off, also minor probably from his Cap. The frame came with the photos and postcard inside and is wobbly. Please view all photos for the big reveal. The Doll is 27 Long. The Jacket is Approx. 16 1/2″ Shoulder to Shoulder, 24″ Long, Sleeve Length approx 25 1/2.
