A used British 1897 Pattern Infantry Officers Sword George 5th NO SCABBARD. This sword has King George V and the Kings crown eteched onto the blade, as well as designed into the guard, so this sword dates from 1910 to 1936. The length of the blade is 33 inches. Handle grip is made of shark skin and is in excelent condition. There are some very minor dings in the edge of the blade, but besides that it is in excellent condition. There are no visible maker marks and thie sword is not regimentally marked at all. Overall in excellent conditon and a very nice piece. GST of 5% is applicable on all sales within Canada. It is mounted with a grooved arsenal made blade which measures 26 1/2 inches in length that remains in very nice original condition. The fabulous gilded D-guard wears all of its original bright gold wash and frames a beautiful white samé covered hilt that has survived in very healthy condition and with its twisted wire wrap still tightly in place. The lovely original red and cream Sword Knot remains very nice in its condition and is mounted upon a gold cloth cording that reflects only minor wear. The outstanding shagreen covered scabbard also remains in near mint condition and wears beautifully detailed coordinating fittings that continue to wear all of their bright gold wash as well.
