This is an extremely nice example of a Japanese Army NCO Sword, Type 95 which does wear matching numbers. It is mounted with a brass guard and a cast aluminum hilt painted to resemble the Officer’s pattern with ALL of the original bright, clean paint still present. The machine made blade measures 26 3/8 inches in length and has survived in superb condition with only some old dried grease. The MATCHING beautiful green lacquered metal scabbard has only some very minor light scuffs, otherwise remains near perfect in its condition as well. Overall measuring 38 1/8 inches in length. This is a very nice example of a Japanese Shin Gunto Sword carried by an Army Officer during World War II. It is mounted with an ancestral, streamline signed KOTO blade that wears a cutting edge of 26 3/4 inches in length. The blade has survived in beautiful polished condition with a very nice temper line that extends to the tip on either side. The tang wears one hole and although difficult to make out, possibly reads? All the nice quality fittings also remain very nice as does the metal scabbard which remains absolutely perfect in its condition. This is a very nice example of a Large Variation of a Japanese Cavalry Officer’s Sword, Type 19 and would have been in service all the way up to World War II. It is mounted with a plated machine made large, beefy blade that measures 28 1/2 inches in length by 1 3/16 inches at the widest. The blade remains in very nice original condition with only some minor surface blemishes. It wears a very nicely detailed pommel which frames a lovely horn hilt that although only a portion of the twisted wire remains, has survived in very healthy condition. The hilt also continues to wear much of the original bright gold wash and the backstrap features a lovely floral motif. The plated scabbard has a couple of small dings and some light flaking, otherwise also remains in very good serviceable condition. Overall measuring 36 3/4 inches in length. This is a nice and desirable example of a Japanese Army Officer’s Sword. It is mounted with a beautiful streamline stainless steel forged blade that wears a cutting edge that measures 24 7/8 inches in length and from tip to tip measures 33 1/8 inches in length. The blade has survived in very nice condition with only some minor surface blemishes. The well signed tang wears characters which translate to Fujiwara Mitsunaga motte? This is a very nice example of a rare and desirable custom RANDALL Fighting Knife which dates from the World War II Era. It is mounted with a blade that measures 7 7/8 inches in length. The blade reflects good honest wear with crude sharpening scratches that could easily be removed in the right hand if desired. The markings RANDALL MADE Spfld. Do however remain very nice and clear. The leather ringed hilt also shows that it has been well used but does remain healthy in its condition as well. This Knife is wearing a Mosser type scabbard that remains in excellent condition with all the stitching still tightly intact. The sharpening stone is long gone. This is a good example of a Japanese D-Guard Army Officer’s Kyu Gunto Sword. It is mounted with an ancestral blade that wears a cutting edge of 19 inches in length. The blade although is in need of a professional polish, does remain in good condition with just some minor openings but no cracks and no bends. The tang wears two holes and shows to have been shortened leaving only a portion of the signature Omidajo Fuji? The large D-guard remains in nice condition with some of the original gild still present and is enhanced with a silver family mon on the backstrap. The beautiful white rayskin covered hilt is a bit damaged near the peg hole, otherwise remains very healthy in its condition and a small portion of the original twisted wire wrap is still present. It is mounted with a beautiful and well made Arsenal stainless steel blade that wears a cutting edge that measures 23 7/8 inches in length which remains in near mint condition. The tang wears an arsenal anchor stamp and is signed ” TAKE YASU saku ” on one side and is hand-painted “Kata Oka Tsugu Kazu” which is most likely the name of the original owner. This is a very nice example of a well made Special Order Japanese Army Officer’s Shin Gunto Sword. It is mounted with a fabulous gendai blade which wears a cutting edge that measures 26 inches in length and remains in near perfect original polished condition. The blade also wears a beautifully active temper line that extends to the tip on either side. The wonderfully signed tang wears the signature “Chiku Go Ju Mutou Yukihiro ” as well as “Tame Kohara Masao Kun Sei Tan which indicates that “this Sword was forged for Kohara Mosao. On the other side of the tang it is also marked “Kou Ki Ni Sen Ropyaku Yo Nen Shin Syun” which translates to ” 1944 , New Spring”.
