Vintage/Antique 1910s 20s Mens Sportsman Tall Boots. Size 10/11 WEARABLE
Up for sale are these extraordinarily rare pair of ORIGINAL 1910s/1920s era knee high boots. The leather on these is in excellent condition and the boots are wearable and should have plenty of life left in them. The texture on the leather would indicate that they might be buffalo (or more correctly, Bison) but can’t say for certain as they are not marked as such. The soles are in great shape, however the heels will need to be replaced. You can take them to your favorite cobbler and they will likely charge about the same. I cleaned and conditioned the leather and examined them thoroughly and these are great boots in excellent shape and are ORIGINAL to the time. They are marked on the inside Imported for Armishaw’s – Portland, OR. Armishaw’s was a shoe store located here in Portland from about 1885 to around the 1940s and was the premiere shoe/boot store in the city. There are no other markings that I can find on the boots. Judging from the style of the boot I would date these to somewhere between 1910 to perhaps the early1930s. The size is not marked by I wear a size 9 and these are more like a 10/11. From heel to tip of toe measures 12. There is no return on these boots. The size is not marked but I have given you enough information to make an informed decision regarding size. I believe them to be a 10.5 to perhaps an 11.
