This is a very nice example of a German Prussian Imperial Officer’s Sword that dates from the early 20th Century. It is mounted with a slightly curved plain blade that measures 32 1/8 inches in length which remains in nice original condition with only some minor surface blemishes. The lovely gilded guard features an intricately detailed oak leaf pattern along the backstrap and has survived in nice condition with all of the gold was still present as well as frames a beautiful composite covered hilt with its twisted wire wrap still securely in place. It is not in the best of shape however as seen in the pics; the blade is damaged with heavy pitting (no rust remaining though) and the scabbard looks like it has been grounded on parts to remove heavy rust. Hilt is slightly loose. Length in scabbard: 117cm – 46′. Length overall: 112cm – 44′. Hilt length: 165mm – 6 1/2′. Blade length: 97cm – 38′. Authentic Anton Reiche Chocolate Mold featuring five uniformed Prussian soldiers i n beautiful condition. Marked on the side above the soldiers’ heads with “2 Anton Reiche Dresden 7″ meaning it was made in 1927, and the letter “P” which may stand for Platinol the nickel-coated sheet metal they were famous for creating. Or maybe the “P” refers to the Prussian soldiers. The mold’s catalogue number 1438 is on the side below the soldiers’ feet. This has been in my family for at least 60 years, but perhaps for longer.
