FISKARS BAYONET no scabbard, estate sale find. Only know what little have read serial #35897 which I understand matched to its weapon. Please refer to pictures for condition and specifics. Do not collect knife, bayonet or military items. Have not cleaned or sharpened only research of blades markings. Lots of patina with wooden grip. Just over 16″ length blade is 12″. What I have found is this: Finnish Mosin Nagant bayonet. This type of bayonet was issued with Finnish Mosin Nagant rifles M. 1927, 1928, 1928/30, 1939. This was a standard Finnish army bayonet during the Winter War. Made in Finland by FISKARS and accordingly marked on the blade. The serial number is stamped on the back of the grip. This bayonet was manufactured by Springfield Armory and is dated 1919. This bayonet is in great condition considering its age. The blade retains most of its finish. There are some runner marks from scabbard wear. The blade does not appear to have been sharpened after it left the factory. There are a few nicks in the edge of the blade. The blade is stamped S A over the flaming bomb and is dated 1919. The opposite side of the blade is stamped US and has the serial number 1061787. The guard is tight and it has no play. The guard is a little bent (see pics, bent on thumb release side). The guard, hilt and pommel all have a nice even patina. There is some light pitting and minor surface rust (nothing serious). The release mechanism is working properly but is a little stiff. The walnut handles are in great shape with no damage that I can see. One panel is stamped 956. This may be a rack number (not sure). The bayonet has an overall length of approximately 20 & inches. There is no scabbard with this bayonet. This bayonet would make a great addition to any collection. This beautiful bayonet is for the Finnish Model 28/30 Mosin Nagant. It is marked with the “S” for Suojeluskunta (Civil Guard), but appears to be unissued as it has no Civil Guard unit number or rifle number on the pommel. The condition is excellent near mint. This is a very nice example of a Japanese Bayonet Type 30 which was designed to fit the Arisaka Rifle. This particular Bayonet wears a flat bird’s head pommel with a hook crossguard and wrap around grip. It is mounted with a bright blade that measures 15 5/8 inches in length. The blade has survived in superb condition with only some minor surface blemishes and is marked with the Jinsen Arsenal marking on the ricasso. The contour wrap around wooden grips are fastened by rivets and remain in very nice, healthy condition as well. The blued metal scabbard is lightly scuffed but does remain very nice and still wears a leather double loop frog that also remains healthy in its condition. For sale is a vintage rifle mounted / hand held bayonet. It’s a Dutch model 1895 manufactured under contract by Austria (the OE over WG stamp on the blade) and used by the Dutch Infantry. Those made under contract by Austria and Germany had hooked quillons and were the earliest version. Blade length approx 14 inches – 19 inches overall length. Blade is marked on both sides – unknown markings – 6739 G (stamped on the cross piece) – both sides of blade have some sort of makers marks. Locking bolt spring is strong and functional. Original and outstanding U. M1905 Springfield Armory manufactured 16 inch blade bayonet dated 1920 and very rare 1920 dated RIA (Rock Island Arsenal) M-1910 Canvas and Leather Tipped Scabbard. This bayonet was intended to be used on the 1903 Springfield and early M1 Garand Rifle. Both bayonet and scabbard are both dated 1920 and obviously have seen very little or no actual service use. The scabbard is original to the bayonet, remains in excellent condition, and is of the very rare 1920 date. The scabbard is marked RIA and also dated 1920 same as the bayonet. Very few of these M1910 scabbard bare post WWI dates as so many were made during the war there was really no need to make any more in 1920. Overall an outstanding set which would be hard to upgrade in condition. These are very hard to find like this as most were used heavily between the wars, cut-down, and whatever survived got used up in the early years of WWII. Absolutely 100% guaranteed to be an original.
