Gun Model: Springfield 1903 or M1 Garand (later used in WWII). The left ricasso is marked with “S A”, bomb, and “1921”. The right side is marked U. The Scabbard is marked “RIA / 1921″ on the front of the top strap and “RIA”, what appears to be “1909” and T. On the back of the main body. Description: This is a Pattern M1905 that was made in 1921, after WWI, with a 1921 dated Rock Island Armory leather wrapped and leather tipped wood scabbard. The blade measures 15 7/8″ long, OAL is 20 1/2″. Overall Condition: The metal of the bayonet has a blue finish on the blade, the guard, hilt and pommel are parkerized and according to our research, these early items would have been all Parkerized. The blade metal has been refinished, the other surfaces appear original, it was probably done by an arsenal, perhaps for WWII use. The metal shows cleaned erosion and imperfections under the finish, along with a few areas of erosion through the current finish. The blade is semi-sharp but there are no indications that it was sharpened after refinishing; the cutting edge has some waiver in its line. The surfaces show scattered scuff marks and a few infrequent darkened patina areas. The cross guard has scuffs, rub wear and areas of patina. The grips are the correct later semi-grooved type, which show a few light marks. There are no cracks or major damages. The bayonet is in Fine condition. The scabbard is leather wrapped with a brown leather tip and brass hanger, the canvas and leather are roughed and discolored, the material remains strong with small losses, the hanger has natural patina, also found as verdigris on the rivets. The leather is leaching white color, as natural of the fats escaping over time. For its age and role in world history, this lot has survived quite well. This is a vintage Hungarian Cruciform Bayonet with the original matching scabbard. The cross-shaped blade is marked with the Hungarian crest and what appears to be F. F inside a shield. The blade of this bayonet is in beautiful original unrestored condition with wonderful patina. The total length of the bayonet is 22.5 inches, with the blade being 18 inches long. There are no nicks and the blade point is excellent. The push button in the pommel works fine. The muzzle ring measures 15mm. The grooved wood grip has some indentations on the back, but otherwise is in good condition. There is light rust on the crossguard and pommel. The steel scabbard shows signs of wear with some scratches and light rust spots, but is still strong and sturdy. The scabbard is 19.25 inches long. The back of the canvas sleeve of the scabbard is hand written A. Description: This is a 1920 marked Springfield Armory pattern 1905 bayonet that is parkerized, which is correct for items after 1919. The grips are shallow-ribbed wood panels. The scabbard is of wood, rawhide and canvas construction, with a leather tip. Overall Condition: The blade has scuffs and is developing some small spots of oxidation. The cutting edge has some very small dings as photographed. The cross guard, tang and pommel have surface oxidation and patina. The wood panels have slight discoloration and small chip losses but no cracks or major damage. Great condition WWII German Army K98 Bayonet and Scabbard marked Elite Diamont 1939 and with matching serial #s 5787c. The blade is perfect and has never been sharpened, the very tip is flattened and the picture makes it look a lot worse than it really is, grips are dark brown bakelite and are in perfect shape, no rust just old age patina, the mounting screws and round nuts are excellent and not mangled, the flash guard is also perfect, the press stud works perfectly, clean mortise, and double waffen stamped on the pommel. The scabbard doesn’t have any rust and just one ding on the back side. It also comes with an original frog which is unmarked and the threads have separated on one side.
