Beautiful and rare original 1956 Spanish Civil War Commemorative Medal for Polish soldiers in the XIII International Brigade with ribbon! Medal is in fantastic shape for it’s age! A limited number of medals were issued due to the small number of participants who were still alive in 1956. Please feel free to ask questions and make an offer! This medal is from the esteemed collection of Allan Zakrzewski, WWI historian, member of Cross and Cockade International and Orders and Medals Society of America. He was also a Charter member of The League of World War One Aviation Historians. In 2001, he became an editor for Over the Front quarterly magazine and while a member of the Gulf Cost Chapter of the League of WWI Aviation Historians, he earned the Thornton D. Hooper Award for Excellence for his article on Monoplane Fighters of World War I. In 2007, he received his second Thornton D. Hooper Award for An Evening with Rodney Williams, 17th Aero Squadron. Much of his collection is on display at the University of Texas at Dallas’ Eugene McDermott Library.

A near perfect Spanish Civil War Helmet. The Spanish Civil War begin July 17, 1936 and lasted until April 1, 1939 with support of Germany and Italy. The German came in with the Legion Condor with more than 5.000 troops and aircraft. The war allowed Nazi Germany to test and perfect their planes in actual combat. More than 200,000 lives were lost during the war. The helmet is in great condition with liner and chin strap. An original hat insignia will be sent with the helmet. The ration coupon posters do not come with the helmet.
SPANISH M1907 CAVALRY SABER. CONDITION: Blade has a medium to dark gray light pitted patina. Hilt has a dark patina. Pommel cap is missing, and cap nut has been replaced. See photos for condition. Overall length is 41 1/2″ and the blade is 35 1/8″. Plain blade with a single wide fuller numbered at the ricasso 27715. The ricasso is also stamped ARTILLERIA FCA NACIONAL. Sheet iron hilt with engraved Sigil of the Spanish Cavalry, two crossed swords and lances, with the Spanish tricolor guidons on the guard. 2-Piece crosshatched wooden grip. Pommel cap is missing.
