Rare China Marine Mess Sergeant’s Tunic – ID’d, circa 1930’s. This tunic is from a grouping of Thomas’s other uniforms, in another collection that is currently not for sale. This is how we have been able to identify this item to Sgt. Thomas, as this item is not individually marked itself. Overall in nice condition, with no areas of mothing and discoloration. One the back of the right sleeve, along the seam, there is a black substance that has stained approx. A 7 long section along the sleeve. There is wear throughout due to use by Thomas. On both sleeves the Mess Sergeant Rank is machine sewn on. Very nice Eagle, Globe and Anchors on both lapels with wear, toning and patina on both. Coat, shoulder and pocket buttons are have similar wear and scuffing with tight stitching on all. The only marking inside the tunic is the number “590” in the center near the collar.
