This is a very nice example of a Japanese Officer’s Sword Knot which was used with the Japanese Kyu Gunto Mounted Sword and is complete with a beautiful gold woven thread slider. It is constructed with a black woven linen strap, a large solid black knot along with the woven thread slider. It has survived in very nice original condition. This is a very nice example of a Japanese Army Shin Gunto Officer’s Sword that is mounted with a nice, Seki arsenal blade. The blade wears a cutting edge that measures 26 5/8 inches in length that features a lovely wavy temper line which extends to the tip on either side and has survived in very nice condition with only some very minor surface blemishes. The tang wears a seki stamp and is dated “Showa junana nen which translates to ” year 1942. The hilt wrapping is a bit tattered but does remain tightly in place and all the fittings also remain very nice and do include a desirable cross-hand sarute as well as a slightly faded but nice brown and blue tassel. The metal scabbard has a couple of small dings, nevertheless also remains in very good serviceable condition and wears beautiful fittings. Overall measuring 40 1/8 inches in length. This is a very nice example of a Japanese Army Officer’s Company Grade Kyu Gunto Sword, Type 19. It is mounted with a wonderful grooved blade that wears a cutting edge that measures 26 1/8 inches in length. The blade has survived in very nice original condition with only some minor surface blemishes. The beautiful D-guard is very nicely detailed and frames a gorgeous hilt that is beautifully covered with healthy black polished sharkskin. Still present, is a very nice blue and brown tassel that came with the sword and remains in excellent condition as well. The plated metal scabbard has one small ding and has just a little minor flaking, nevertheless does remain in very good, serviceable condition. Overall measuring 35 inches in length. The blade has survived in beautiful polished condition with a very nice temper line that extends to the tip on either side. The tang wears one hole and although difficult to make out, possibly reads? All the nice quality fittings also remain very nice as does the metal scabbard which remains absolutely perfect in its condition. This is an exceptionally nice example of a Japanese Non-Regulation Naval Officer’s Sword. It is mounted with a beautiful, well made Antique Shinto Blade that wears a cutting edge of 26 1/2 inches. The blade has survived in superb condition in gorgeous polish with only some very minor surface blemishes and does boast a fabulously active straight temper line. The tang wears two holes and is signed on one side which translates to “Fujiwara SADATSUGU “. The hilt and all the fittings remain in excellent condition as well. The wooden scabbard continues to wear its beautiful leather combat covering that also remain in outstanding, healthy condition. Still present, is the original brown double tassel, complete with braided slide which remains near mint in its condition. Overall measuring 38 1/2 inches in length.
