THE ORIGINAL WAS HAND STAMPED ON THE UPPER RIGHT WITH THE DATE SEPT 23,1931, THE SAME DATE AS THE 1ST FLIGHT OF THE USS AKRON ZRS-4. HAND STAMPED IN THE COPY ON THE UPPER RIGHT: SEP 23,1931. DIMENSIONS: 8 1/2″ x 14″. Was a helium-filled rigid airship of the U. Navy which operated between September 23,1931 and April. She was the world’s 1st purpose-built flying aircraft carrier, carrying F9C Sparrowhawk fighter planes which could be launched and recovered while she was in flight.
