(Scheid, Wien)’, enameled, oval medallion with blue enameled gold outer circlet, center with the image of the saint wearing the red robe, painted in the finest enamel miniature, the four double eagles’ obverse with applied escutcheons gilt and enameled, hinged crown suspension above a chiseled, stylized acanthus leaf, original ornamented suspension loop and silk ribbon. Breast Star , 85 mm, Silver, chiseled and pierced rays, center in gilt silver, enameled, pin on the reverse. Extremely fine condition and rare! The Order of Saint Sava was established originally to recognize civilians for meritorious achievements to the Church, to arts and sciences, the royal house and the state.
