Up for consideration is a vintage Nazi flag. Its huge its over 4 ft wide and 6 ft long. Its in very good condition on the one side of the flag in the white by the Nazi symbol theres a small minor tear. On the one side in the white theres a mark like something was spilled on it. Needs to be cleaned. Other then that its in very good condition and a very rare flag not to many of these that are this big are around. Amazing piece to add to any collection a most have. This is a very nice example of a Japanese Company Grade Kyu Gunto Sword. It is mounted with a substantially large machine made blade that measures 32 3/4 inches in length by 1 1/8 inches at the widest. The blade remains in wonderful condition with only some minor surface scratches. The brass guard remains tight and features a lovely silver family mon on the backstrap. The carved horn hilt also remains tight and very healthy in its condition. The nickel plated scabbard has a small amount of flaking near the drag as well as one small ding nevertheless remains in very good serviceable condition as well. This is a rare and seldom encountered Large Japanese Police High Ranking Officer Sword in Kyu Gunto mount. It wears a very nice, large, Arsenal made blade which wears a cutting edge that measures 27 3/4 inches in length. The blade remains in nice condition with a gorgeous actively wavy temper line, some minor surface blemishes and a few very small nicks to the cutting edge. The tang is signed??? Kanemichi saku” and is dated “Kigen roppyaku ni nen (Year 1943). The large Kyu Gunto hilt also remains very nice with a very healthy, lovely white samé grip covering and the pommel backstrap is adorned with a high relief Police badge emblem. The plated metal scabbard has some flaking and a couple of very minor, tiny dings, nevertheless remains in very nice serviceable condition and fits the blade snuggly. This is a very nice example of a Large Variation of a Japanese Cavalry Officer’s Sword, Type 19 and would have been in service all the way up to World War II. It is mounted with a plated machine made large, beefy blade that measures 28 1/2 inches in length by 1 3/16 inches at the widest. The blade remains in very nice original condition with only some minor surface blemishes. It wears a very nicely detailed pommel which frames a lovely horn hilt that although only a portion of the twisted wire remains, has survived in very healthy condition. The hilt also continues to wear much of the original bright gold wash and the backstrap features a lovely floral motif. The plated scabbard has a couple of small dings and some light flaking, otherwise also remains in very good serviceable condition. Overall measuring 36 3/4 inches in length. This is a very nice example of a Japanese D-Guard Army Officer’s Kyu Gunto Sword. It is mounted with a well made grooved, oil tempered blade that measures 27 1/8 inches in length. The blade remains in very nice original condition with a wonderful actively wavy temper line and with only a little minor surface blemishes. The fabulous large D-guard has now beautifully patined with age and is enhanced with a silver family mon on the backstrap. The beautiful white rayskin covered hilt remains very healthy and continues to wear its original twisted wire wrap securely in place. This is an original very large Garrison flag given to Imperial Japanese 1st Fleet Admiral Seizo Kobayashi from the crew of the battleship Kongo. Admiral Kobayashi was the 1st Fleet Admiral from 1931 to 1933 and later went on to be the 17th Governor General of Taiwan. He served on the Kongo early in his career as a gunnery Officer, so the flag was probably given to him by the crew upon his retirement from the military. The flag is very large and has three panels sewn together with heavy leather tabs on one side, it measures 12 feet 8 inches by 8 feet 5 inches. There are some stains on the flag in several spots, but no holes or rips, it is in excellent condition for its age. This is a great piece of military history. All our items come from estate sales, yard sales, or places that we have traveled. All Japanese items came from Japan. I lived in Japan for 8 years and collected several nice pieces. We are a smoke free home, but many of the items were acquired from homes that may have smoked.
