1929 USSR Military Tactical Officer Leather Map Crossbody Shoulder Folding Bag
Up for sale is pre-owned. Crossbody shoulder folding case / bag. That was designed to carry maps and/or documents. It is constructed from several pieces of stiff. Closure by 3 metal snap fastener buttons; white the bag is open it has 1 inner compartment, divided in two parts and covered with transparent material that probably is Bakelite; it has non-adjustable leather strap. On the inner side of 3 pieces of. There are 4 quality control stamps with surnames of QC personnel, month, year (1928 and 1929), factory name. I cannot say for sure whether this bag was designed for air force or army officers or both of them. It looks like this bag wasn’t use at all otherwise and due to exposure to the elements it would look absolutely different by its condition and in witness thereof one can clearly see that the inner side of the leather looks like a new one. Relatively well preserved and in good to very good condition despite its age. BUT on the other hand it is not looks like a new one for it has small crack in a Bakelite; there are light signs of corrosion on some metal parts; there plenty of light scratches on both outer sides and all this due to long storage and probably moving from place to place for years. 9.25 x 7.08 x 0.78 inches / 23.5 x 18 x 2 cm.
