This is a very nice example of a Japanese Company Grade Kyu Gunto Sword. It is mounted with a substantially large machine made blade that measures 32 3/4 inches in length by 1 1/8 inches at the widest. The blade remains in wonderful condition with only some minor surface scratches. The brass guard remains tight and features a lovely silver family mon on the backstrap. The carved horn hilt also remains tight and very healthy in its condition. The nickel plated scabbard has a small amount of flaking near the drag as well as one small ding nevertheless remains in very good serviceable condition as well.
