This is a very nice example of a well made Japanese War-Time Army Officer’s Shin Gunto Sword. It is mounted with a lovely blade that wears a cutting edge which measures 26 1/2 inches in length and remains in very nice original condition. The signed tang wears the signature ” SADAMITSU ” on one side and a date that translates to “Showa juhachinen jugatsu (1943, October)” on the other side. All the beautiful quality fittings remain very nice as well. The metal scabbard has a few small working dings near the drag, otherwise also remains in very good serviceable condition. The blade remains in good, healthy condition with no nicks and no bends but does have a few scratches and some minor surface staining. The tang is signed which translates to ” HIROMISTU ” and is dated “Showa jukyunen jugatsu (1944, October)”. All the fittings also remain in very nice condition as does the metal scabbard which has only a little scuffing near the carrying ring. Overall measuring 38 3/4 inches in length. It wears a brass guard and is mounted with a cast aluminum hilt painted to resemble the Officer’s pattern which continues to wear some of the original paint and does remain in nice, tight condition. The machine made blade measures 26 3/8 inches in length. The blade also has survived in very nice original condition with only some minor surface blemishes. The MATCHING metal scabbard is a lightly scuffed near the carrying ring but does remain in very good serviceable condition as well and has no dings. Overall measuring 38 1/4 inches in length. This is a very nice example of a Japanese Cavalry Officer’s Sword, Type 19 complete with all of its Accoutrement which includes the Sword Hanger, Sword Tassel Knot and Lanyard. This Sword would have been in service all the way up to World War II and is mounted with a slightly curved, grooved, plated machine made blade that measures 30 7/8 inches in length. The blade remains in very nice original condition with just minor surface blemishes. The guard wears a very nicely detailed pommel which frames a lovely horn hilt that has also survived in very healthy condition and the backstrap features a lovely silver family mon. The beautiful, original black Sword Knot is present and remains very nice in its condition. The corded Lanyard is also present and shows only slight wear. The plated metal scabbard has some light flaking along with some “hand” wear where it was carried and a very slight bend near the tip, otherwise also remains in very good serviceable condition. Also present on the scabbard is the original leather Belt Sword Hanger that has survived in very healthy condition as well. Overall the Sword measures 38 1/8 inches in length. Rare and seldom encountered, this is a lovely example of a Japanese Naval Bandsman Belt which dates from the World War II Era and has survived in outstanding condition. It is constructed of beautiful, healthy chestnut brown leather with brass fittings that features a very nicely detailed anchor upon the face of the buckle. This is a very nice example of a Japanese Bayonet Type 30 which was designed to fit the Arisaka Rifle. This particular Bayonet wears a flat bird’s head pommel with a hook crossguard and wrap around grip. It is mounted with a bright blade that measures 15 5/8 inches in length. The blade has survived in superb condition with only some minor surface blemishes and is marked with the Jinsen Arsenal marking on the ricasso. The contour wrap around wooden grips are fastened by rivets and remain in very nice, healthy condition as well. The blued metal scabbard is lightly scuffed but does remain very nice and still wears a leather double loop frog that also remains healthy in its condition. This is a very nice example of a short Japanese Army Officer Sword which dates from the Showa Era and is in Civilian Mount. It is mounted with a well-made arsenal blade that wears a cutting edge of 21 1/2 inches and from tip to tip it measures 29 1/8 inches in length. The blade boasts a lovely straight temper line which extends to the tip on both sides and remains in beautiful original condition with only some minor surface blemishes. The tang wears a Showa stamp and is signed ” Fukumoto KANEMUNE “. It wears gorgeous matching menuki and simple but very nice fuchi kashira that all remain in very nice condition as well. This is an extraordinary example of a Named, one of a kind German Artillery Officer Sword that dates from the early 20th Century. It is mounted with a fabulously patterned, fullered blade that measures 31 5/8 inches in length which remains in very nice condition with only some minor surface staining. The impressive basket guard is embellished in a gorgeous cut out leafy design and adorned on the face with a medallion that features the name of the Officer ” Friedrich Vogt ” please Google for more information… Along with the motto “Treu und Wahr”. The exquisitely detailed basket guard remains in superb, original condition with 95% of its beautiful bright gold wash still present and frames a healthy fishskin wrapped hilt that is sturdy and continues to wear its twisted wire wrap tightly in place along with a portion of leather finger loop. The plated metal scabbard also wears lovely gold washed fittings and although has a few small dings to the base fitting, overall remains very nice in its condition as well.
