2 Volume German Language Set of Books Kolonien im Dritten Reich 1936 3rd Reich
This is a two volume German language set of books published in 1936 in the Third Reich of Nazi Germany. It was a little known goal of the Third Reich to reclaim the former German colonies lost due to the Treaty of Versailles after World War I. These colonies included Togo, Cameroon, German Southwest Africa and German East Africa, along with islands in the south Pacific. Beautifully photographed in black and white, there are many depictions of everyday colonial life during the Wilhelmine period when Germany had territorial ambitions in Africa and Asia. Volume 1 is 274 pages in length, Volume 2 is 263 pages. 11″ x 9″ x 1.5. Both are in very good, almost mint condition. Both feature red leather on the cover of the spines as well as the corners of the covers. As per photos, there are swastikas on the covers. I in no way promote the ideas and goals of the Third Reich. These books are being offered as unique insights into Colonial Germany; a subject matter this is interesting but little studied.
