WW2 German Dagger by Grawiso
WW2 German Youth Dagger made by rare maker Grawiso of Solingen. This early youth knife has a steel based hilt. Excellent nickel plating at 90+% on the pommel & nearly 100% on the crossguard & backstrap pieces. Has pre-1936, close checkered, Bakelite grips in perfect condition. The grips are retained by nickel rivets with dressed heads on the obverse. The youth insignia is nicely set & wiggles slightly as it should. The insignia enamels have perfect red, white & gold areas as well as the black of the national symbol. The scabbard is straight w/original black paint showing some age and rates about 90%. The leather belt loop & strap are constructed of supple uncommon brown leather w/a working snap. The blade is extremely nice & has not been sharpened w/some minor spotting. The “Blut und Ehre” (Blood and Honor) engraving is uncommonly clear and undamaged. The original leather blade buffer is in place. There is no RZM mark which indicates the knife was produced before 1935 NOTES; These knives were carried by young boys where knife care was a low priority.
