This is a very nice example of a short Japanese Army Officer Sword which dates from the Showa Era and is in Civilian Mount. It is mounted with a well-made arsenal blade that wears a cutting edge of 21 1/2 inches and from tip to tip it measures 29 1/8 inches in length. The blade boasts a lovely straight temper line which extends to the tip on both sides and remains in beautiful original condition with only some minor surface blemishes. The tang wears a Showa stamp and is signed ” Fukumoto KANEMUNE “. It wears gorgeous matching menuki and simple but very nice fuchi kashira that all remain in very nice condition as well. The black lacquered wooden scabbard also remains healthy and is still wearing its healthy leather combat covering. Overall measuring 33 1/2 inches in length. Be sure to add me to your favorites list.
