Vintage MGC Replica Gun. Provenance Note: For those not fully aware of the Model Gun Corporation (MGC) of Japan’s reputation, I urge you strongly to spend a few minutes on the internet looking them up and especially about their history of this specific Replica 1921 Thompson Submachine Gun. MGC was known for their attention to detail. In fact, many of their guns were used as actual training guns because the company strived for realism making all the dimensions as close as possible to the real gun. In fact, most of them dismantle exactly the same as well. Because of the Two Allen Screws seen on top of the mechanism, it means this is one of the earlier ones most likely from approximately 1972. Also, eventually MGC changed the Round Drum Magazine (Chicago Al Capone Style) to the Standard Stick Magazine. In addition two types of these were made originally. One that fires absolutely nothing (this one) and one that fires caps. Both of these have magazines that open though. These are not “apples for apples” as the saying goes. For Sale is a Vintage Replica Non-Firing ” 1921 Thompson Submachine Gun ” by the Model Gun Corporation (MGC) of Tokyo, Japan. This was produced in the Early 1970’s and is made of Solid Wood and Metal (Zinc Alloy & Steel). It dismantles into 3 main parts as you can see in my photos. This one does not fire caps like another version but the round drum magazine does open the same way. The only function this one can do is a working slide spring lever which would be basically cocking the gun so the trigger can be pulled. Take note of the Rear Sight Aperture as well which can be lowered up/down. I don’t know if the later models had that or not. I’ve read contradicting statements about it on certain forums. If you have any questions about it, please message me. Dimensions: Gun measures approximately 35 Long assembled and Weighs 10.8 Pounds. On a scale of 1 – 10 (Ten being New in Package Only), I can confidently grade this item’s condition to be a. Overall and Especially for being 35+ Years Old, this Realistic “Tommy Gun” replica is in Very Good – Excellent Condition. No Less than 85% Immaculate. The Wood has Absolutely Zero Chips/Cracks and its original finish is at least 85% Pristine. The Metal of this replica gun has Zero Physical Damage such as Chips/Cracks/Rust/Rot. It’s original finish does have some very slightly sporadic wear but nothing extreme whatsoever. In fact it also is at least 85% Pristine. On the Magazine there is a small yellow scuff seen in photo. Mechanically, the spring lever cocking spring works problem free as well as the trigger. The only mechanism that does not seem to work is the safety lever to switch from “Fire” to “Safe”. It seems to be mysteriously stuck in the “Fire” position. I have not tried to force it. I truly can’t figure out what the issue is. My photos are an accurate depiction of this item’s TRUE Condition. It snaps back on with ease. It Cannot be Modified to Fire. This replica NON-FIRING gun contains the colored markings required by law, including a permanently attached orange plug. Federal Law requires a blaze orange plug or barrel marking on any replica of a firearm that was produced post 1898. This replica firearm is IN FULL COMPLIANCE with FEDERAL LAW. Blaze Orange Tips are required. Federal Law requires Blaze Orange Tips on all post-1898 Replica Guns: DO NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES remove, alter, obscure, or otherwise change the appearance of the colored tip at the barrel end of the replica gun. Here is a DISPLAY Thompson M1928A. The top receiver is from IMA and is solid aluminum. The sight is a early style original Lyman. It has a very rare 1928a barrel. The wood is in great shape and has the sling swivels moved from their original locations (British modified) the swivels are the milled type. The front grip has also been checkered. I was told that the Brits did this as well. The lower receiver is a West Hurley 1928 made from aluminum. The trigger is the only internal part. No other fire control parts are insidesear, trip, etc. The safety and selector levers are the early milled type. Also included is a very nice reproduction Kerr sling and a oil can for the buttstock.
