Very Nice Japanese Army Officer Sword Signed Sukesada
This is a wonderful example of a World War II Japanese Army Shin Gunto Officer Sword mounted with an ancestral blade. The blade wears a cutting edge that measures 26 9/16 inches in length and remains very nice in its condition with just some minor surface blemishes and a few very tiny nicks to the cutting edge, nevertheless continues to wear a beautiful polish and boasts a gorgeous actively wavy temper line that extends to the tip on either side. The blade also features a lovely horimono on either side. The tang wears two holes and is signed “Bizen No Kuni Osafune Sukesada Saku”. This Sword wears high quality Army Shin Gunto Regulation Mounts that also remain very nice condition in their condition as well as is accentuated with a pretty silver family Mon upon one of the menuki. The Regulation scabbard has also survived well with just some light scuffing to the beautiful lacquer finish however has no dings. Overall, the Sword measures 38 3/4 inches in length.
