Very Nice Japanese Army Officer Short Sword
This is a very nice example of a Japanese Army Officer Sword that is mounted with an antique Wakizashi blade which would have been proudly carried by a Japanese Officer during WWII. This beautiful grooved Shinto blade has a cutting edge of 20 inches in length and wears a large wavy temper line. The blade has survived in very nice condition with just a few minor forging flaws and a couple of very tiny nicks to the cutting edge at the tip. The tang wears one hole and is signed Ai? KUNI MASA ” on one side and his location “Bishu Uda Gun Nakamura Junin on the other side. This beauty is mounted with wonderfully detailed Civilian fittings which are enhanced with outstanding gold dragon motifs and all the fittings have survived very nicely as well. The wooden scabbard is also very nicely fitted with a leather combat covering, that although has a bit of scuffing does remain in very good condition. Overall measuring 33 inches in length. This is a fine example of a War Mounted Ancestral Blade as worn by a Japanese Officer during World War II. Be sure to add me to your favorites list. Check out my other items.
