Non-Firing replica Thompson MG and German WWII MP-40 machine gun Tommy gun WW2
Non-Firing replica Thompson MG and German WWII MP-40 machine gun copies. These are both very high quality older manufactured replica WW2 machine guns. One is the famed Thompson. 45 caliber, and has a detachable magazine, and looks to have been a high quality type of airsoft perhaps (NOT plastic receiver, barrel, trigger, sights, or magazine). I have only enjoyed it in use as a carry for international Military Re- enactments in Belgium and the UK. The look and feel is accurate, and it has a chambering/cocking action, but will not chamber a bullet ever- This has been to “Tanks in Town” in Mons Belgium, Bastogne twice, Normandy one time, and many events in the USA as well while we were displaying restored WWII vehicles. These are not easy to find. All plastic ones are readily available, and are just that- plastic. Not at all realistic enough to display as a placeholder. This has satisfied the scrutiny of many that have seen it on the wall, amongst the rest of the period items in that room. The WWII German MP-40 is a unique one, with detachable magazine that holds a simulated bullet that can be chambered and discharged by manually cycling through the action, but the “round” has a hole penetrating through to it’s inactive non-firing base, which corresponds with a pin that it slides over as it is chambered. This can not, and never can be modified to chamber an actual round. The Thompson is made from metal, and has simulated wood, plastic molded furniture- grip and stock. These can be removed and real wood furniture can be attached- It was my plan, but it displays so nicely as it is. The MP40 is heavy duty injection molded resin with a genuine functional metal magazine with internal spring and carrier, and fully functional folding metal stock. It is rather difficult to find, and will be enjoyed on your wall as much as we have while it was here. We have assembled replicas from WWII parts kits, so these are not needed with us for the future. Both replicas have proper shoulder slings and would make GREAT Christmas gifts for the collector in your life. They have proudly displayed as placeholders in our collection for many years, and are ready to see them make a new home in your collection.
