Original WWII Inland M1 Carbine M1A1 Paratrooper Airborne Folding Stock
Original WWII Inland M1 Carbine M1A1 paratrooper stock. Ifyou are looking for one of these then you know what they are and likely know more about them than I do. 99% of this stock is authentic. This is an original Inland stock. It is IO marked on the inside as pictured. When I got this stock back some time ago it had some pieces missing. The stock and the wire part of the stock were intact. The cheek pad was missing and the buttplate was missing. Both were put on and restored by a professional gunsmith. The buttplate was supposed to be original but I cant prove it either way. The cheek pad learher and inner side is repro. The back plate is original and eas attached by rivets that look great. There is a small crack forming where they all crack. The pistol grip is “P” proofed and bears an “SA” proof on the bottom under the stock wire. The handguard is a National Postal Meter and is stamped “TN”. You can see all the other markings and wear in the photos. Stock does still leach cosmoline if left in the sun. Please feel free to ask questions or for more photos. This is a chance to get a 99% original stock at a reduced price. This is not some kind of made up nonsense designed to fool or fake. The only parts I can remember adding are the cheek rest, buttplate, and I think the bottom nut or bolt was missing. Like I say, it wasnt all complete. The front barrel band is a type 1 but as you can see the sling swivel was cut off. I had another i used when it was on my carbine. This can be fixed easily. If there are any concerns please ask. This was in the posession of a collector of authentic items here locally. He intended on opening a museum and never did.
