Nice Japanese Army Officer Sword Wwii, Signed Yoshiharu
This is an example of a Japanese Army Battle Weary Shin Gunto Officer’s Sword that is mounted with a Seki arsenal blade. The blade wears a cutting edge which measures 25 5/8 inches in length that although has several pronounced nicks to the cutting edge, does continue to wear its lovely actively wavy temper line. The tang is signed “Ando YOSHIHARU saku kore”. The hilt wrapping remains in superb, original condition and is mounted with beautiful quality fittings. The wooden scabbard is scuffed and although still present, the leather combat covering is also in well worn condition. Overall measuring 39 1/2 inches in length.
