National Match “Dogs of War” Shooting Medal. “In 1903, the 57th Congress created the National Marksmanship Competition Matches which provided for the creation of the National Match “Dogs of War Trophy. Winners of the National Match (Dogs of War) Trophy were also awarded an antique bronze National Trophy Match (Dogs of War) Badge along with the top 15% of the teams that competed in these matches. The red, white, and blue ribbon has some light soiling, but considering it’s age, it is still in super condition. The medal has an aged patina and just need a little polish to sparkle.
