Nice Japanese Officer Police Sword
This is a very good example of a Japanese Police Lieutenant Level Sword which dates from the World War II Era. It is mounted with a machine made blade that measures 23 1/2 inches in length which remains in very nice original condition with only some minor surface blemishes. The beautifully detailed guard wears the Police emblem (16-Ray Badge) on the backstrap near the pommel as well as very nice, intricately detailed leafy designs with cherry blossoms. The lovely hilt is nicely fishskin wrapped that shows a little good honest wear, nevertheless its original twisted wire wrap does remain tightly in place. The plated metal scabbard also reflects a bit of wear to its plating but does remain in nice serviceable as well and has no dings. Overall measuring 31 3/8 inches in length.
