This is the type without rolled edge as made during the German occupation for civil defence, police and other collaborating units. Almost all original paint remains. No holes or cracks. The chin strap is’ersatz’ and comes from a similar helmet, the leather short part is a reproduction. The liner is original pre-1940 and never removed. Dutch M38 helmet, a type of military helmet used by the Royal Netherlands Army and the Royal Dutch East Indies Army (KNIL). The helmet’s design is a descendant of the earlier Dutch M34 helmet. This M38 helmet was manufactured by the Milwaukee Saddlery Company (Milsco) in the USA for the KNIL, and these can be identified by the absence of a frontal badge. After the Dutch capitulation in World War II, some of these helmets were captured and reused by German forces. That appears to be the case here. Measures 11.25 front to back. 9.25 widest point. Comes from a WWII veteran who served in France with George Patton’s 3rd army armored division. Great piece of history.

Durante la guerra venne utilizzato nel 1943 dalle truppe della Gendarmeria e venne dotato di decalcomanie sulle fiancate (il Marechaussee venne così ribattezzato nel 1943 e pienamente collaborativo con i tedeschi). Dopo il 1945 l’elmetto venne riutilizzato dalla Korps Rijkspolitie (Polizia di Stato). La maggior parte degli elmetti utilizzati dalla Polizia Nazionale nel dopoguerra provenivano dal bottino di guerra tedesco. Nella nave troverete la marcatura RE =rijdend eskadron? E i resti di un timbro rotondo del produttore di navi J. L’elmo era dipinto nel grigio della Rijkspolitie e aveva una granata fiammeggiante sul davanti. Guarda bene le foto e guarda anche gli altri miei annunci. Casca originala rara olandeza M33, completa, originala si in stare buna. Aceasta casca are ceva istorie de spus. A fost produsa între 1933? I 1941 ca casca de armata. Nu a avut niciodata o insigna de leu în fa? A produc? Ie târzie? În timpul razboiului, a fost folosit în 1943 de catre trupele Jandarmeriei? I a primit decals-urile pe par? Ile laterale. (Marechaussee a fost astfel redenumit în 1943? I pe deplin colaborativ cu germanii). Dupa 1945, casca a fost refolosita de Korps Rijkspolitie (poli? Ia de stat). Cele mai multe ca?
