Original 1927 United States Fleet Baseball Championship program/scorecard from Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, dated April 6-7, 1927. The game matched Aircraft Squadrons, Scouting Fleet – champions of the Scouting Fleet in 1926 and 1927 – against USS California, champions of the Battle Fleet. Interior pages list prior Scouting Fleet and Battle Fleet game results, batting order, reserve players, and hand-entered scoring. Printed at bottom: U. ” Reverse/inner page includes period “Aircraft Songs, ” including “Hit It Again” and “Bye, Bye, Prune Barge. ” From the YN2 Robert “Dinty Moore U. Navy archive, with Moore’s handwritten service history retained as provenance linking the archive to his interwar Navy service aboard USS Whitney, USS Concord, and USS Dobbin. A rare interwar U. Navy sports and fleet-aviation artifact tying together baseball, Guantanamo Bay, Scouting Fleet aviation, USS Wright, and USS California. Interior scoring is handwritten in pencil. Displays well with strong typography and excellent fleet/baseball content. USS Wright matters here because the program itself is printed U. Wright – 4-6-27 – 2500, and a specialized naval baseball reference identifies this exact type of 1927 Fleet Baseball Championship scorecard as USS Wright-produced for the Scouting Fleet vs. Battle Fleet championship at Guantanamo Bay. Wright also fits the aviation/scouting context, as NHHC records Wright serving aviation/scouting functions and supporting Scouting Fleet aircraft operations. Dobbin also fits Moore’s broader Scouting Fleet context; NHHC notes Dobbin served with the Scouting Fleet and operated out of Guantanamo Bay in the 1920s.

Navy shipboard entertainment program from the U. Whitney AD-4, a Dobbin-class destroyer tender. The program is titled “Engineers and Communications in their Subway Show” and is dated Easter Sunday, March 31, 1929, Gonaïves, Haiti. The printed program lists ten entertainment numbers with engineering, radio, and communications-themed titles, including Dot One, Dash Two, Spark Five, Static Six, Vacuum Seven, and Full Power Ten. The acts include playful Jazz Age and vaudeville references to Paul Whiteman, George M. Cohan/Cohen, Weber and Fields, orchestral numbers, comic skits, and a finale by the assembly. This piece comes from the Robert “Dinty” Moore naval archive. Moore’s handwritten service log places him aboard U. USS Whitney’s documented interwar service included winter operations from Caribbean ports including Gonaïves, Haiti, making this a well-contextualized artifact of shipboard life during the U. Navy’s Haiti occupation-era presence. A scarce and highly displayable piece of interwar U. Navy ephemera documenting morale entertainment, shipboard humor, communications/engineering culture, and USS Whitney AD-4’s 1929 Haiti operations. Original single-sheet printed program, approximately 6 1/2 x 9 inches by ruler. Printed text remains bold and very readable. Please review photos closely for condition. 1928 Aloha Smoker 27th Infantry Schofield Barracks January 14th Boxing Program, 1928 Major General William R. Smith – In very good condition – please see photos. Appears to be released by the 27th Infantry Press, inside consists of a bio/story about the Commander of the Hawaiian Department (US Army) and a brief update on sports activities plus local advertising. Appears that the “Smoker” was a local boxing event for the barracks. A Smoker was a social event and could be everything from a mixer to a boxing event as this one is. Both the 27th infantry as well as Schofield Barracks are still in existance today.

US Army TC-5 Zeppelin Airship Program 1933 Scott Field IL Real Photograph Lot 2. This is a lot of two real photographs for an airship program at Scott Field, Illinois in 1933. The photo with airship reads, ” Christmas Program Scott Field, IL 1933″ and, Lieut Col. Kennedy Commanding, Paul B. Look closely on zeppelin and you can read “TC-5″. This is an Army airship and it is flying over Scott Field hanger. A line of bi-wing planes is flying over the airship! I believe the planes were used to wrangle the zeppelin. The other photo came with the Program cover photo and has the same boarder and was probably part of the program. It shows part of Scott Field and hanger building. The TC-5 was designed for coastal patrol duty and was the first of its kind to land at East Boston Airport. This is a RARE item.
