This poster was a submission for the 3rd Annual Peace Poster Contest in the 1930s’. It has an identifying stamp at the lower right corner with the name “Edna” next to it. It certainly has seen better days – as it has a long tare at the “W” in war as well as the lower left corner bottom. Also noted is the moisture damage that is seen by the dark areas and shapes on the poster. We acquired this from a local estate sale with no other information provided. RARE VINTAGE WW I LIBERTY BONDS POSTER. This item consists of a rare vintage WW! Liberty Bonds poster by Louis Roiemaekers issued in 1917 on the authority of the Liberty Bond Commission, 120 Broadway, NYC, featuring a pencil sketch of family members in sorrow and exhibiting the headline. After a Zeppelin Raid in London’But Mother had done nothing wrong had she, Daddy’, Prevent this in New York, Invest in Liberty Bonds. Poster in very good condition for its age. It has some rough edges, a fold in the middle and tack marks in the corners from being hung on the wall. This is from the collection of the daughter of a soldier who fought in that war. Rare Original USN Navy Life Recruiting Poster 1931 Pre WW2 WWII Matt Murphy NRB. Huge recruitment poster, dated 1931. Edges are ragged, a few areas where the paper tore have been reinforced on the back. I tried to place this in a 40×27 poster frame fore safety but it was approximately 1 short on all sides. Need 42x 29-30 frame. The 40 x 27 would require a small trim on all sides. Paper is foxing, please examine pics. This is as estate fresh and you can possibly find. I found these in an attic of a navy veteran. They have not been cleaned or restored in ANY way. They are original and most are dated. Paper is fragile, has some overall “yellowing” to it. The field is in relativity good condition, and would frame really really nice. Has some foxing on the lower border they may clean up with a wipe down. Two slight creases/ripples, see picture 11. Outside border does has staining, rips, etc. Please look at pictures. Original Spanish Civil War Propaganda Poster: 2 November, Francisco Franco and most likely Enrique Lister. During Spanish Civil War, The Nationalists reached Madrid in early November 1936 by approaching it from the north along the Corunna Road and the west by the Extremadura Road. On 29th of October, a Republican counterattack by the 5th (communist) regiment under Enrique Lister was beaten off at Parla. On November 2nd, Brunete fell to the Nationalists, leaving their troops at the western suburb of Madrid. The battle ended in a stalemate but was a tactical victory for the Spanish National Forces. Dimensions: 24.5 X 17.5. Good for a vintage poster, few creases, rolled poster.
