The pin is 35mm long approximately and the central badge is 19mm in diameter. The pin is in excellent condition with no damage and the central enamel badge features a “H” on a black and white shield and in the outer band “National Assn old IRA-1st Battn Dublin Brigade”. This was the unit of the Dublin Brigade Irish Volunteers that Kevin Barry belonged to, and this pin would have been worn by 1916 Rising and War of Independence veterans of this unit. It is a beautiful and rare little item and its something that very rarely turns up on the collectors market.
