PRE-WW2 GERMAN LABOR DAY 1933 (TAG DER ARBEIT 1933) PHOTO POSTCARD RPPC. “1933 München Tag der Arbeit” refers to the National Socialist Party’s seizure of the traditional May 1st “Tag der Arbeit” (Labor Day) in Munich, replacing the worker’s holiday with an event after the National Socialists rise to power. In 1933, the National Socialists dissolved independent trade unions, confiscated their assets, and created the German Labor Front (DAF) to control labor, effectively turning the holiday into a demonstration of their power. HAND OPAQUED CAPTION IN THE NEGATIVE ON THE LOWER FRONT CENTER. München, 1 Mai 1933, ,, Tag der Arbeit’. SHARP FOCUS AND VERY FINE CONTRAST. THIS IS NOT A REPRODUCTION OR A COPY.
