The cover has some wear, the spine is a little damaged but is not falling apart. The inside is complete and clean, no loose or missing pages. There is no writing inside. This medal was awarded to those volunteers who served in the Irish War of Independence. This medal was manufactured by P. Quinn Ltd & The Jewelry Mfg CO. And bears the hallmark of PQ & CO on the suspension bar rear. Officially called’The Service Medal’ but nick-named’Black and Tan’ after the enemies of the IRA during the War of Independence – The Black and Tans. The medal is original and in fine condition. This is a good example of a Japanese Holster, Model 34 for a type 94 Pistol. It has survived well reflecting only good honest wear and with all the nice chestnut brown leather still healthy as well as with all the stitching still tightly intact. This is a very nice example of a Japanese Army Officer’s Sword. It is mounted with a Gendai blade that wears a cutting edge which measures 25 1/2 inches in length. The blade remains in very nice original condition with a lovely temper line that extends to the tip on either side. The tang is signed which translates to “Nagamura KIYONOBU “. All the fittings have also survived in very nice, clean condition. The black lacquered metal scabbard also remains in very good serviceable condition. Overall measuring 38 3/4 inches in length. This is a very nice example of a Japanese Shin Gunto Sword carried by an Army Officer during World War II. It is mounted with an ancestral, streamline signed KOTO blade that wears a cutting edge of 26 3/4 inches in length. The blade has survived in beautiful polished condition with a very nice temper line that extends to the tip on either side. The tang wears one hole and although difficult to make out, possibly reads? All the nice quality fittings also remain very nice as does the metal scabbard which remains absolutely perfect in its condition. Still present, is a lovely field grade red and brown Tassel that remains very nice as well. Overall, the Sword measures 41 1/8 inches in length. Be sure to add me to your favorites list. This listing is for a scarce late 1920’s CHINA MARINE 8″ x 11″ personal leather cover photo album put together by USMC private George C. Lewis assigned to the 10th Marines. Contains over 113 photos and documents. Less than 10% are family photos the remainder being USMC marines in various period uniforms and activities. Henderson that arrived in Shanghai China on 2 May 1927 with Marines for the garrison there and remained in China for 6 months. The detachment was assigned to protect American Nationals in the war-torn China area. A great find for the USMC collector and historians.
