The Nicaraguan Campaign Medal is a campaign medal of the United States Navy which was authorized by Presidential Order of Woodrow Wilson on September 22, 1913. A later medal, the Second Nicaraguan Campaign Medal was authorized by an act of the United States Congress on November 8, 1929. The two medals were considered two separate awards, with the original medal being commonly referred to as the First Nicaraguan Campaign Medal. The First Nicaraguan Campaign Medal was created to recognize those U. Navy personnel and U. Marines who had participated in amphibious actions in Nicaragua between 29 July and 14 November 1912. The following naval commands, and all embarked U. Marines, were eligible for the First Nicaraguan Campaign Medal. USS California (armored cruiser). USS Cleveland (protected cruiser). USS Colorado (armored cruiser). USS Denver (protected cruiser). USS Maryland (armored cruiser). USS Tacoma (protected cruiser). The medal for the First Nicaraguan Campaign Medal displayed a volcano, rising from a lake, with the words Nicaraguan Campaign and the date 1912 on the edges of the medal. The medal itself was suspended from a red ribbon with two thick blue stripes. On the reverse of each medal was a Navy or Marine Corps crest, depending on the recipient’s branch of service. It was rarely photographed during the short period of peace this helmet has known. After the defeat of the French army in 1940 and the signing of the Armistice in June, this model remained in in the navy buildings assigned to both sides. One side residual forces of the Government of Marshall Pétain, the other side being the troops of the’free French’, alongside the allies. Thus, this helmet model 39 remained in staffing throughout the second world war, and its production is resumed in the aftermath of the war for the needs of the Navy in the far East. It would seem that the 39 Navy model was only manufactured by Dunois Vincennes. Dieser seltene französische Helm erschien 1939. Up for sale is one Pre World War 2 US Navy Submarine SONAR Sound Head Projector ASDIC. I don’t have much information on this unit but it is definitely a RARE FIND. It is either a Magnetostriction or Piezo Transducer based on my research but could also be a Fessenden Oscillator. The unit was connected to an oscilloscope and you can see oscillations when tapping on the projector head. I did google the part numbers on the unit shown in the pictures but wasn’t able to find any information. The whole assembly is made of mostly brass and possibly nickel or stainless steel. There is some sort of rubber material on the back of the projector head. The unit measures around 24 inches long and has a long two conductor cable attached. The SONAR head comes in a rugged storage case with no part numbers or markings. The numbers on the Sound Head are as follows.. ESO – 671351 (In Brass Casting). 35 ONR5 (Hand Painted). USN 62190 – 000675 (Stamped in Brass). 5B 20 (Stamped in Brass). BARGE CR C G 6B (Stamped in Brass). This SONAR Head is a very unique piece of history and belongs in a museum. For your consideration this listing is for a possibly unique, original surviving badge from the U. Navy S/M (standard missile)? Base, Pearl Harbor, T. This treasure is made of some type of metal due. The center of the badge features two stylized dolphins flanking each side of a large military vessel. It is raised from the base of the metal and tests positive for sterling silver. We’ve owned the badge app 30 years. For the last 2 or 3 years, we’ve tried looking up this badge to see if any others exist and value but have come up empty handed. We’d be appreciative if anyone else has any further information on it. We believe the badge is most likely from the mid 30’s or perhaps a little earlier based on the dolphin motif. Made at the Naval Clothing Depot. Uniform Coat and Pants perfect as well is its Belt and Authentic Sword. The Hat and Epaulets Show some ware and tare, they are antique and in antique used condition. The Belt is stamped Hand Boarded Cow. The Sword has its Sheath also leather and Cloth storage rap, original. The only tag on the Uniform is with the Commanders name , H. And I dont know what Size.
