The jacket is named to Corporal Joseph F. He joined the U. Marine Corps in 1923 and served as a sea going marine on several battleships and spent time with the 3rd and 4th Marines. Quigley was discharged in 1930. The jacket is in very good condition. There’s a little fading and there’s one small hole behind the neck area. There seems to be a couple of water stains to the bottom area, shown in photos. Jacket is very small in size. One of the Corporal patches has some moth damage. I added the EGAs to complete the jacket, and will be included. The EGAs are bronze and are the correct period and issue for the jacket. Feel free to ask questions or request more photos. Rare China Marine Mess Sergeant’s Tunic – ID’d, circa 1930’s. This tunic is from a grouping of Thomas’s other uniforms, in another collection that is currently not for sale. This is how we have been able to identify this item to Sgt. Thomas, as this item is not individually marked itself. Overall in nice condition, with no areas of mothing and discoloration. One the back of the right sleeve, along the seam, there is a black substance that has stained approx. A 7 long section along the sleeve. There is wear throughout due to use by Thomas. On both sleeves the Mess Sergeant Rank is machine sewn on. Very nice Eagle, Globe and Anchors on both lapels with wear, toning and patina on both. Coat, shoulder and pocket buttons are have similar wear and scuffing with tight stitching on all. The only marking inside the tunic is the number “590” in the center near the collar. Shoulder to Shoulder – 18. Armpit to Cuff – 17. Bottom of Collar to Bottom of Tunic – 29.5. Reference pictures for detail and quality. Track Page Views With. Auctiva’s FREE Counter. Here is a wonderful WW1 USMC painted helmet. ID’d to Thomas E. Lee who was a member of the 69th Guard Company, 11th Regiment, 5th Marine Brigade, AEF. He was at Camp Pontanezen, France from what I can tell. Stunning color artwork with crossed American and French flag, large EGA to front along with German style tortoiseshell camo design. This is 100% guaranteed to be real, and is one of the most attractive Marine Corps painted helmets we have ever seen. It is pictured in full color in Alec Tulkoff’s wonderful book: Equipping the Corps. It really is a centerpiece in any USMC or Great War helmet collection. Never before offered on the open militaria market. The item “Stunning WW1 USMC Trench Art Painted AEF Helmet ID’d to Marine EGA artwork” is in sale since Friday, March 16, 2018.
