WW1 Original Eclair Vermorel Trench Bunker Gas Spraying Equipment 1914-18 Italy
Vintage Unusual and Rare WW1 Eclair Vermorel Sprayer Canister. First World War British “Vermoral” sprayer was used to neutralize trenches and dugouts which had been contaminated with chlorine gas. Equipment was based on pre-war “Vermoral Knapsack Sprayers” designed for spraying fruit trees, flowers and vegetables. This was used by both British and French Army’s to neutralize the trenches after a gas attack, see the picture of it in use with the British Army. Great Historical Piece in Excellent Clean Condition! Very hard to find in this condition! Untested and unsure of usability! Looks to be mostly complete… Nozzle is missing on end of wand (only thing I can see missing)! Tank has very little tarnish or corrosion! Label is in great shape! Hose is still flexible! Straps are present but have come detached! Please see photos for complete description and details! Vtg US Pre-WWII Equipment Bag. Vintage US pre-WWII equipment bag that measures about 30″ x 20″ at the longest points. It is a very large duffel type bag with buckles on the back and straps that go over the top. The bag is very dirty with lots of stains and spots all over. A lot of the stains look like water stains or possibly mud stains, but it is basically covered with them. The hardware is a bit discolored and blackened and the bottom left strap is coming loose a bit at the top seams. Please look through photos to get a good idea of overall condition. Very rare MECo 1927 Contract Web Equipment Set
On offer here is something very unusual. Beginning in 2005, a limited number of sets of web equipment appeared on the collectors’ market in both the USA and Great Britain. These sets consisted of. 25 Cartridge carriers, Back adjustment strap, Bayonet frog, Braces, Haversack , and Upper rucksack ; together with a Patt. 19 Rifle Equipment Entrenching tool carrier and Water bottle carrier , all in khaki. Almost all the pieces were maker marked M. After examining this set, it seems clear that this mixture of Patt. 25 was both intentional and original to the equipment. The US dealer chose, as a sales convenience, to refer to these as “Pattern 1927″ equipment (he was, by the way, perfectly aware of the technical distinctions of the equipment and noted them in his descriptions). That name has stuck among collectors. A trickle of these sets continued to drift the collectors market. These are coming from Afghanistan. Afghanistan is one of the countries Albert Lethern lists in the Golden Jubilee booklet as a M. This set is in excellent condition and marked M. / 1927 on every piece except one of the Braces. For the collector, this is a near unique opportunity.
