It is mounted with a lovely straight, double fullered blade that measures 29 3/8 inches in length which remains in near mint original condition and is stamped by the maker just next to the guard. The beautiful gilded brass guard is adorned with the Polytechnique emblem upon its face and frames a gorgeous and very healthy carved horn hilt that continues to wear its twisted wire wrap still securely in place. This is a beautiful French Made Chilean Presentation Sword for the well known Argentinean Physician, Politician and Diplomat Marcos Jose Arce (15 October 1881 – 27 July 1968). This gorgeous Sword features a gilded brass hilt that is exquisitely detailed with cut out design and engravings and crowned with the head of a condor for the pommel. The guard remains very nice and tight and frames beautiful mother of pearl grips that have survived in excellent condition as well. It is mounted with a multi fullered, wonderfully etched blade that measures 32 inches in length and is named “MARCOS JOSE ARCE” on one side. The blade has also survived well with only minor blemishes and surface staining. The outstanding silvered scabbard is fabulously engraved and also remains in superb condition with no dings.
