This is a Brazilian VZ 24 JC rifle made under contract by the arsenal at Brno (ZB) in Czechoslovakia. The “JC” is short for Jizní Cína or “South China” in Czech. But more on this later. It is a standard length, large ring 1898 pattern action.
Brazilian Model 1908 Mauser Bayonet. Bayonet is unmarked, aside from the serial number 13089 on the right side cross guard. No nicks, dings, corrosion or evidence of previous corrosion (no pitting) aside from one tiny spot on the edge of the spot. Grips are in excellent condition. Hilt mounting mortise and spring release button in perfect condition, and the button operates smoothly. Muzzle ring diameter 15.5 mm.
