ARTIFACT: This is a circa 1920s or early 1930s United States Coast Guard Officer hat badge marked Vanguard NYC on reverse: this is the only one of its kind that I have seen. Circa 1920’s Full Dress General Officer’s Visor Cap. There is very detailed bullion work around the band. Not sure who the maker is, size is about a 7 – 7-1/4. In good condition; the sweatband is worn, stained and is missing stitching about half-way around. The bullion vein work design is largely gone, but still has a great look. This is an amazing find. This is a set of boots manufactured in 1920 by the. This design was at the request of the U. Bass Company has been in business since 1876. The boots are a work of art. Heavy sheepskin lining with static free soles, laces on the back for a superior fit. Two front zippers with leather pull tabs and these are a size 8. Heavy duty leather construction made during a time when every boot was handcrafted and the quality shows. Beautiful brown color and made in very small numbers and nearly impossible to find today. Extremely rare naval aviator wing, owned by John F. Clymer, came with other material from him from an estate clearance about a year ago. Absolutely stunning Robbins pattern wing with straight drop safety catch, and a stop that does not allow the pin to flip all the way back, but only to about 45 degrees. Nearly all the original finish remains. The feather detail is amazing, with clean sharp definition. This is the nicest post WWI wing I have ever had, the ID is solid, I had other things from this officer, born in 1905, listed in the rolls as having joined in 1927. I did not find out much more about him, but the early date matches up well with this pattern of wing badge. 2.75 wide, plus a mm or so. This is the nicest wing of this period you will ever own!
