This is a nice Photo Album that dates from the World War II Era. The covering is a lovely deep navy blue velvet that has survived in very nice condition. Inside, there are 85 photos, many featuring soldiers with Japanese Swords as well as other Military accoutrement in addition to group and family photos. This is a good example of a Japanese Army NCO Sword, Type 32. It is mounted with well made grooved machine made blade that measures 30 3/8 inches in length which remains in nice condition with some minor surface blemishes. It wears a metal D-guard and a checkered wooden grip with a side lock that also remains healthy and tight. The guard is marked by the Tokyo arsenal and is dated “Taisho 2″ which translates to “1913”. This is a good example of a Japanese Army Officer Shin Gunto Sword that dates from the World War II Era. It is mounted with a hand-forged blade that wears a cutting edge which measures 26 11/16 inches in length. The blade, although shows forging flaws along with some light scratches, does remain in nice condition with a lovely actively wavy temper line that extends to the tip on either side. The tang wears one hole and is unsigned. All the very nice fittings have also survived well, including the very nice substantially weighted tsuba and the hilt wrapping is tight with only a little fraying. The metal scabbard reflects battle fatigue with scuffing and a couple of hits near the drag, nevertheless does remains in very good servicable condition. Overall measuring 39 5/8 inches in length. This is an example of a Japanese Army Battle Weary Shin Gunto Officer’s Sword that is mounted with a Seki arsenal blade. The blade wears a cutting edge which measures 25 5/8 inches in length that although has several pronounced nicks to the cutting edge, does continue to wear its lovely actively wavy temper line. The tang is signed “Ando YOSHIHARU saku kore”. The hilt wrapping remains in superb, original condition and is mounted with beautiful quality fittings. The wooden scabbard is scuffed and although still present, the leather combat covering is also in well worn condition. Overall measuring 39 1/2 inches in length. This is a nice example of an original Polish Officer Sword Saber Model 1921/22. It is mounted with a slightly curved blade that measures 31 inches in length. The blade remains in excellent condition and is marked by G. BOROWSKI just next to the guard on the backside. The plated brass guard is a bit scuffed with a couple of small dings on the pommel, nevertheless remains nice and tight in its condition. The leather covered hilt also remains very nice with only minor wear and the original twisted wire wrap remains tightly in place. The plated metal scabbard has some minor scuffing and a couple of dings, but remains in good serviceable condition as well. Overall measuring 37 1/2 inches in length. This is a nicely customized Japanese Army Dress Parade Sword Dagger that dates from the World War II Era. The period customized blade now measures 9 1/2 inches in length and remains in nice condition with only some minor surface blemishes to the plating. The beautifully detailed guard also remains nice and frames a lovely carved horn that is healthy with just a few small chips near the ferrule and pommel nevertheless the twisted wire wrap is still tightly in place. The nickel plated scabbard has some flaking to the plating with light oxidation nevertheless has no dings and remains in nice serviceable condition. Overall measuring 26 3/8 inches in length. This is an example of a Japanese / Taiwan Colonial Sword that would have been carried by Japanese Officials assigned to the Colonial Administration of Taiwan. It is mounted with a machine made blade that measures 28 3/8 inches in length which although is a bit stained and has been lightly sharpened, does remain in good condition. The plain guard remains very nice and in tight, sturdy condition. The guard frames a beautiful black samé covered hilt with its original twisted wire wrap still nicely in place. The smooth black lacquered scabbard is a bit scuffed but does remain in very good serviceable condition as well as wears equally beautiful coordinating fittings. This is an example of a Japanese Army Dress Parade Sword that dates from the World War II Era. It is mounted with a machine made blade that measures 27 1/8 inches in length. The blade has some flaking to the plating nevertheless remains in good condition. The wonderfully detailed guard remains in good tight condition and wears a silver family mon on the backstrap. The horn hilt has survived in very healthy condition and with all of its twisted wire wrap still tightly in place. The nickel plated scabbard is heavily flaked with light rust but does remain in good serviceable condition. Overall measuring 33 5/8 inches in length.
