For your consideration is this scarce, 1920’s Era United States Marine Corps Enlisted Alpha Service Cover. It’s being offered by us, as found, uncleaned. The leather band, buttons, and leather bill are all in very good condition. The included EGA is original to the period and appears original to the cover as well. The inside leather band is in very good condition, but retains approximately half the original stitching, which is very common with covers this old. There is also a moth bite on the top about the size of a pin head. This is a very scarce, transitional period cover, and is one of the nicer examples we’ve seen for sale. Overall, this cover is a true survivor, and if you’re looking for a museum piece or want to top off a period uniform, this fantastically preserved piece has no issues, and is ready to be displayed proudly. RARE ORIGINAL UNITED STATES MARINE CORPS 1898 SPANISH CAMPAIGN MEDAL, SPLIT WRAP BROOCH W/ OPEN “C” CATCH. BAILEY BANKS & BIDDLE. RIBBON DRAPE TESTED UV NEGATIVE AS SHOWN. The Marine Corps version of the Spanish Campaign Medal was created in June 1908 and issued to any member of either the Navy or Marine Corps who had served in the Philippine Islands between the dates of 1 May and 16 August 1898. Crews of select ships were eligible for the medal prior to 1 May. For service in the West Indies, the Navy awarded the West Indies Campaign Medal as well as the Sampson Medal which was authorized by a joint resolution of Congress in 1901. In 1913, the Navy discontinued the award of the West Indies Campaign Medal and extended the criteria of the Spanish Campaign Medal to any member of the Navy or Marine Corps who had served on active duty during the Spanish American War. The Spanish Campaign Medal was a military award of the United States Armed Forces which recognized those members of the U. Military who had served in the SpanishAmerican War. Although a single decoration, there were two versions of the Spanish Campaign Medal, one for members of the United States Army and another for the forces of the United States Navy and United States Marine Corps. Early versions of the Spanish Campaign Medal suspended the medal from a gold and red ribbon, but this design was changed in 1913 upon request from Spain that a United States service medal not bear the colors of the Spanish nation. This is a vintage 1930s era US Army wool mackinaw. The mackinaw is in DISTRESSED vintage condition. The wool is reasonably crisp and looks clean (no stains) but there is significant moth damage in a number of areas. Very wearable (and very rare), great size, but with damage as noted. PLEASE NOTE a number of spots on the back – see photos! The inside tag is mostly not legible, it looks like the size is 3-something, 36 or 38? Really not sure so PLEASE USE THE MEASUREMENTS as a gauge of fit. Following is the measured size of this garment. Chest is measured from armpit seam to armpit seam. Kingdom of Yugoslavia High Officer Navy. Rare Item of Kingdom History. Item belonging to the High Officer of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia Navy. Parad e paulettes : They consist of a handle, a field and a resin and are made of one piece. On the upper side are covered with golden fabric, and from the bottom are set with a black color. The handle is 60 mm wide and on the free side it is cut by angles of 14 mm. On the upper part of the handle there is a small navy button (one button is missing). The field is colored and has a large diameter of 102 mm and in a small 50 mm. It is made of three ropes, of which the inner bobbin and handle. The ropes are round and gold-plated, the middle is 13 mm wide and the outside 2 mm. The elopets are made to lay horizontally on the shoulders. The epaulettes are worn only with a redengine, they run under the golden petals, and they are attached by a single wand that runs through the two loops on the shoulders. In the middle of the field is located on the eupolets of the naval officers with a gold embroidered navy emblem consisting of anchor wrapped with a rope with the royal crown above it.
