Very Nice Italian Air Force Officer Sword
This is a very nice example of an Italian Air Force Dress Sword that dates from the World War II Era. It is mounted with a very nice straight, fullered blade that measures 30 1/4 inches in length. The blade is beautifully etched with bright blue and gold on either side, is marked by the maker E & F Hörster Solingen on the ricasso and remains in superb original condition. The lovely cup guard is in the motif of a full eagle’s wing with the pommel in the image of an eagle’s head and remains in nice tight condition. The black painted wooden hilt reflects a little wear to the painted finish, otherwise remains nice as well and the original twisted wire wrap is still securely in place. The metal scabbard is leather covered and beautifully fitted with the top fitting featuring the Air Force emblem. The scabbard also remains healthy in its condition and with its stitching tightly intact. Overall measuring 37 inches in length. TO SEE ADDITIONAL PHOTOS PLEASE SCROLL DOWN.
