Rare original Chinese medal, pre WW2. Includes the medal, a ribbon device (which is pin back with a metal backing) and the original cloth issue envelope. The medal and ribbon device are both stamped with number 7399. The envelope is stamped 7399. The medal measures approximately 1 3/4 across at the widest. The pin back ribbon device measures approximately 1 3/16 long and the envelope measures approximately 2 3/8 x 3 5/8. The ribbon shows soiling and the medal some age discoloration. The ribbon device has rust stains around the edge. Very usual to find all three numbered pieces together. German Staghorn Grip Fighting Knife. This fighting knife was made during the German Imperial era and used through WW2. The blade is constructed of die forged steel which was lightly sharpened over time. The hilt, flashguard & pommel have a black finish. The blade of this knife is 6- 1/8 inches long (156mm), single edged with a false edge that runs back about 1/3 of the way. The blade exhibits slight graying on its surface (photos 3 – 7). The black painted steel scabbard is the typical fighting knife type that tapers towards the tip (photo 10). It is constructed of steel and retains over 85% of its original black paint. The upper reverse of the scabbard has a brown leather hanger and belt loop. The hangar is retained to the scabbard by steel rivets. The leather is in excellent condition and the snap clip still works (photos 1 – 2). The male portion of the snap retainer clip is missing some of its surrounding leather and was repaired in the distant past (photo 11). The staghorn styled grip is 100% intact and held in place by steel rivets with dressed heads on both sides. This knife is a very fine, and rarely seen, Imperial Bayonet Knife. This lovely Japanese Naval Officer’s Sword Belt dates from the World War II Era and has survived in very nice condition. It is constructed of black leather with brass fittings which although the leather shows a bit of very light wear, does remain in healthy condition. The Buckle face wears a beautiful Emblem featuring a cherry blossom and anchor. Still present are the two sword hangers. Interestingly, there is a hand-inscription of the Imperial Navy Officer’s name on the leather backing of the buckle. Overall the adjustable Belt would fit a waist up to about 36 inches.
