Very Nice Large Japanese Kyu Gunto Army Officer Sword
This is an extremely nice example of a Japanese D-Guard Army Officer’s Kyu Gunto Sword. It is mounted with a gorgeous well made grooved, unsigned blade which wears a cutting edge that measures 27 3/8 inches in length. The blade remains in near perfect original polished condition boasting its attractive actively wavy temper line. The fabulous large D-guard has now beautifully patined with age and frames a very nice white rayskin covered hilt that remains very healthy and continues to wear its original twisted wire wrap securely in place. The plated metal scabbard remains very nice as well with only some light flaking to the plating at the extreme drag edge and has no dings. Overall measuring 37 5/8 inches in length.
