Nice Japanese Artillery Short Sword With Frog
This is a good example of an early Japanese Artillery Short Sword Pattern 1886. It is mounted with a blade that measures 20 5/8 inches in length which although shows to have received cleanings throughout the years, does remain in good condition with only minor scratches and good markings. The Japanese markings on the ricasso translate to “TOKYO ARTILLERY ARSENAL” as well as “Meiji 19″ which translates to “1886”. The black painted steel fitting frame wooden grips that all remain healthy and tight in condition. The leather scabbard also remains healthy with the stitching nicely intact and the staples both secure. Still present, is the original leather double loop frog that remains healthy in its condition as well. Overall measuring 27 3/8 inches in length. Be sure to add me to your favorites list.
