Very Nice Japanese Army Kyu Gunto Officer Sword
This is a very nice example of a Japanese D-Guard Army Officer’s Kyu Gunto Sword. It is mounted with a well made grooved, machine made blade that measures 26 5/8 inches in length. The blade remains in very nice original condition with just some minor surface blemishes. The fabulous large D-guard is beautifully detailed and although has one very small stress crack to one edge, does remain tight and sturdy as well as is wonderfully enhanced with a silver family mon on the backstrap. The pretty white rayskin covered hilt remains very healthy and continues to wear its original twisted wire wrap securely in place. The plated metal scabbard has a single ding but does remain in very nice, serviceable condition. Overall measuring 37 1/4 inches in length. Be sure to add me to your favorites list.
