VERY NICE JAPANESE ARMY OFFICER SWORD WWII
This is a good example of a Japanese War-Time Army Officer’s Shin Gunto Sword. It is mounted with a lovely arsenal blade that wears a cutting edge which measures 26 1/8 inches in length. The blade has some minor scratches on one side as well as some very minor stains on the other side, otherwise remains in good original condition. The signed tang wears the signature ” TAKAMASA ” along one side and a date that translates to “Showa juhachinen kugatsu (1943, September)” on its other side. All the beautiful quality fittings remain very nice in their condition. The metal scabbard has a few small working dings on one side only, nevertheless remains in very good serviceable condition as well. Overall measuring 40 1/2 inches in length.
