VERY NICE JAPANESE KAI GUNTO NAVAL OFFICER
This is an extremely nice example of a Japanese Naval Officer’s Kai Gunto Sword. It is mounted with a beautiful and well made Arsenal stainless steel blade that wears a cutting edge that measures 23 7/8 inches in length which remains in near mint condition. The tang wears an arsenal anchor stamp and is signed ” TAKE YASU saku ” on one side and is hand-painted “Kata Oka Tsugu Kazu” which is most likely the name of the original owner. The hilt and all the fittings remain in superb condition as well. The wooden scabbard is black lacquered and also remains in near perfect condition. Overall measuring 36 5/8 inches in length.
